Strategy Director

We’re looking for creative powerhouses who bring both breadth and depth of expertise, enthusiasm, and vision to a small-but-mighty team that’s poised for growth in the year ahead.


Sub Rosa is a creative studio in New York’s West Village. We build empathic solutions that help our clients progress. Our Strategy Directors lead the Strategy department, balancing day-to-day oversight and management of the team with key client work. Directors also make meaningful contributions to business development, organizational culture and leadership practices, thought leadership and speaking, and internal projects for Sub Rosa-as-client such as pro-bono projects or skill-sharing workshops.


  • Develop authentic and effective strategic platforms and creative concepts that drive our clients’ businesses forward
  • Continually question and evolve our work methodologies and practices
  • Elevate partnership and collaboration across departments (Strategy, Design, Activation, Creative Technology, Production) to lead strategic work from ideation to execution
  • Ensure that all Strategy team deliverables are on strategy, on time, and on budget while empowering the team to own their work
  • Advocate for the Strategy team’s growth and development, focusing specifically on supporting mid- and senior-level strategists to identify and build their desired skill sets
  • Effectively and diplomatically mediate and mitigate any conflicts arising from personal or professional disagreements
  • Foster deeper trust and partnership with existing clients that lead to ongoing business relationships
  • Develop new client relationships from initial conversations to scope development and contracting
  • Expand our network of clients, partners, and collaborators to ensure that Sub Rosa stays plugged into relevant cultural and corporate currents
  • Represent our team in external-facing capacities, including client workshops and presentations, public speaking forums, and relevant industry events



  • Balanced analytical and creative thinker with both depth and breadth of expertise across research, organizational, brand, and marketing strategies, and creative concepting

  • Clear, cogent writing skills with wide tonal range
